CAMDEBOO CONSERVANCY

Stewardship of extraordinary landscapes, rooted in community

WELCOME TO THE

Camdeboo Conservancy

We are a collective of approximately 21 private landowners, nestled in the Camdeboo Valley just west of Graaff-Reinet.

The conservancy spans 76,021 hectares, stretching from the Camdeboo Mountain (De Reuse Kasteel) in the west, across Toorberg in the north, to the Valley of Desolation in the east.

Here, traditional sheep, cattle, and game farming exist in harmony with the natural environment.

Our main purpose is to “Promote the protection of indigenous plants and animals, undisturbed or important biological communities and landscapes of exceptional beauty”, with an expanded commitment to the people who live and work in the Conservancy.
